I’m pretty happy see to the results of the first poll come in with an overwhelming (10 out of 12!) number of voters going for Articles For Beginners.

Regardless of how many people voted, it’s still a good indication of how to proceed: I wasn’t sure until now that many people who like Super 8, don’t yet fully know what it is. For instance, at least half of every group I’ve given a workshop to, are kind of familiar with the aesthetic of Super 8, but are not sure what it looks like, how to use it or are even aware that you can buy it in the shops. Thankfully, they’ve taken the chance and joined me on a workshop anyway!

It’s actually quite good fun explaining everything from scratch at the start of a workshop and following through a full and completed Super 8 film at the end of the day, week or term.

These results have made it very clear and easy for me to provide new tutorials with the beginner in mind at all times. Of course, I’ll be posting more advanced articles along side the basics, but nonetheless this will be a site with the newbie in mind….!
